One of the best features of the iOS is the Multitasking which was introduced with the iOS version 4. The Switcher, as a new addition, is liked by all the users since now they have the power to switch between recently opened applications as well as close the applications running in background.
The Switcher also contains the controls for iPod and screen orientation which can be accessed by swiping your finger towards right on the switcher. Every time when you are listening to a song and want to change the song or pause or play it instantly, you would open the switcher, then jump to iPod controls and do the needful. The one thing that i miss is that one cannot jump to iPod controls directly on opening the switcher as while playing music.
Jailbroken iPhone and iPad now have a nice tweak to be installed that shows music controls first in the app switcher. Not only the iPod controls, the tweak also offers a volume slider with which changing the volume becomes extremely easy. To download the same go to Cydia search and enter Direct Control.
After installation, head to stock iPhone settings to open Direct Control settings.
Under settings you have two sections, Direct to Controls Page and Go To. With these two options you can control the accessibility of iPod and volume controls.
Under Direct to Controls Page you see Always and Only when music is playing options. If you select Always, the switcher will show the iPod controls always whereas if the other option is selected, the iPod controls will only be displayed while playing music.
Similarly under Go To section, you can select what is to be displayed when opening the switcher. Here you can select between Now Playing Controls or Volume + Airplay.
In the image below you can see a volume slider in the switcher and likewise the iPod controls could also be displayed here.
App Requirements: Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad.
Conclusion: Extremely convenient to use and helpful tweak
