With the update in the Twitter application, they rolled out a new feature with the help of which users will not have to search for a long time for the trends available in the Discover section of their interest. Usually the users of Twitter are always into the trends related to their interest and most probably their own location. So now Twitter will use the location services of your iPhone and will enlist the Trends of your location but if you want to talk about some other trends then you can easily turn off this feature.

How To Steps

Open the application and then tap the ‘Discover’ tab and now you will the trends option on the top of the screen, just tap that.

Now on this screen you will see that all the trends mainly of your interest and location are enlisted there. If you have merely updated the application then this feature will be enabled by default. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and you will see the highlighted option to change the status of this feature.

Now when you will tap the option, you will know the importance of this feature and on tapping ‘Change Location’ you can actually fetch the trends from any other location you wish to.

So, this is how you can turn off this new feature, most of the users in various country love to talk about the trends going on in US and this tip will give the users the freedom to do so.

So now we have got the alternative to Google Talk on iPhone, long back when Google Voice application on iPhone did not satisfy the terms and conditions of the applications (actually that application altered the UI of keypad of iPhone) on Apple App Store then Apple took down most of the applications of Google and they warned Google not to do that again.

Then slowly and slowly the applications from Google satisfying all the norms of App Store again started getting populated over the App Store. It started with GMail then Google 2-Step Authenticator and then few more applications came up.

This new application revealed at the I/O event help by Google named as Hangout is basically an add-on feature of the Google Plus Social Networking website wherein using this application you will be able to initiate chat with the users and then start any video or audio hangout with your friends on your Google Plus.

The only negative point of this application when compared with Facebook messenger is that you cannot see the users who are available online at that moment (which is available in the Facebook Messenger application). You can create a new message and then select any user which is available in your circle to send that message. This way when you enter the chat screen then you can initiate the video hangout also.

Now the free calling feature and video calling feature is available on Facebook messenger but only to the US users whereas Google Hangouts Application provides the same to all the users in all the countries where Google Plus social networking is accessible.

This application has also been launched for the Android users but you will just have to upgrade the Google Talk application on your Android phone and it will be converted to the Hangout Application, you can see the same on the Google Play Store.

The application is great and will be very useful for not only those users who are actually using Google Plus most of the times but for those users (like me) who prefer to use GTalk for the conversations rather than Facebook Messenger because it is embedded to your mailbox and thus it is easier for you to be in contact with the person who all are using GMail.

WhatsApp is the most popular cross-platform instant messaging app. It is available for all the major mobile operating systems. The simplicity is what makes it popular across. The throughout experience of the WhatsApp app must be gratifying but moments of frustrations is bound to happen sometimes. Like if you accidentally delete your chat history of WhatsApp. Or you deleted the WhatsApp media.

But the irony is these frustrated problems have rather simplified solutions. How? Lets address each one of them through detailed tutorials.

How to Recover Deleted Chats Which are Recent (24 hours)

One of the best part of WhatsApp is that it automatically creates backup every day. The back up file is stored on your memory card (internal or external). So incase you want to restore the messages which are recent (less than 24 hours) all you need to do is uninstall WhatsApp and reinstall it.

To uninstall WhatsApp or any app on your Android go to Settings – Applications – WhatsApp and choose uninstall.

To reinstall either you can download the latest version from the Whats app site or from Play Store and install like you do it for any other app.

If you were a previous user and you are reinstalling to restore messages, before completely installing WhatsApp will prompt you if you would like to resort your messages from backup. Simply choose “Restore” and you have messages right there.

Recover Less Recent Backups (Older than a day)

If you loose something that is older than a day (but not more than 7 days) you can still restore those but not as easy as you did in most recent (24 hours) backs ups.

First thing you should do is create a backup for the newest messages. To perform this action go to Settings in WhatsApp – Chat Settings and – Backup conversations.

The back-up will be saved in the location “/sdcard/WhatsApp/Databases” with the name “msgstore.db.crypt”. You need to rename this file from “msgstore.db.crypt” to “msgstore.db.crypt.current”.

When you drive to “/sdcard/WhatsApp/Databases” location in your android phone you will see a list of Backup files there. The name of the backup file will denote the date on which it was created. For example the screenshot below shows the backup was created on 24th April.

Once you have selected which file you want to restore, rename that file from “msgstore-YYYY-MM-DD.1.db.crypt” to “msgstore.db.crypt”. (Long press on a file to rename it)

Now install WhatsApp. You will be prompted to Restore. The messages will be restore automatically in your WhatsApp account.

What about Media and other things?

In case you pictures and videos, WhatsApp stores these media files on your drive itself. So incase you loose WhatsApp, you can still find pictures and videos on your SDCard most likely in the album called “WhatsApp”.

You take photos from your smartphone on some special occasion, few days later they get piled up below another stock of photos. Basically i am pointing towards the need of an app that could arrange our photos more aesthetically than what our default picture manager offers.

Using Million Moments to Arrange Pictures Chronologically

Sony, as many of you know is more inclined towards photography and has launched an app called Million Moments. The app aptly overcomes what default picture manager of Android lacked. In addition to creating elegant layouts, the app offers good looking magazine-like layouts too.

Million Moments App by Sony

Once you install Million Moments, you will be asked to import to the pictures from your picture library. Or you can even import pictures from your Facebook account too. Once the importing is done, the app will automatically sort the entire photo collection by date.

Using the unique tagging Feature

An another interesting feature is tagging. This works as suppose you have clicked so many pictures of a person named “X”. So you create a tag for the person name “X” and tag photos in which person named “X” is there. The app will automatically create the person named “X” album. So to view entire photos of Person named “X” you just need to open that automatically created album — instead going through the entire collection.

If you ever used the app “Flipboard” you might find similarity. The Million Moments serves as a “Flipboard” for your pictures. There are bunch of other apps available at Play Store, and offers same solution but the magic moments’s simplicity is something that is more intriguing and scores over other apps.

And its Free

In sum, Million Moments is worth getting your attention because of its ease of usage and elegant photo organisation. And the app comes at even more economic price. $0.00. That’s right. Its free. Download it today.

Sometimes we do not want that when we are checking out mails then the images attached in the mail should automatically load because first of all it consumes our data from the data pack and moreover it takes time to load mails on your iOS Default Mail client. So, if you wished you could turn off the feature of automatically loading the images then we have one and actually it is little bit tricky to locate. Follow these steps to this done.

Open the Settings option to on your Apple iPhone and then scroll little bit down to see the option name ‘Load Remote Images’. You will just have to turn that option off and then you will not see the images being loaded on your mails automatically.

Rather you will see the option named ‘Load All Images’ at the end of the mail tapping which will download all the images available in the mail. So as an advantage the mail will load quickly with the available text in it.

When it comes to taking notes, there is no OS in the world that doesn’t ship this application in-built. Uber cool Mac OS’s “Notes” app, Windows all in one cross platform OneNote program. And when these apps were looking featherweight, the Evernote offered something that no one could refuse.

Its Extremely Simple to Use

But some complain of complexity in these note taking apps. Well if so is your problem, Google Keep might be the app you must be looking for. The plain and simple, you will be blown away by its sheer simplicity. Size of the app weighs just 1.15 MB and the price is free.

Google Keep Interface

Within minutes it will be ready for taking notes once you assign a gmail account to it. The app is entirely clutter free and you can start adding your notes right at the welcome screen. Either you can simply write a normal note or compose a note with a heading. All your notes will be visible in the tiles format making it extremely easier to classify. You can even switch to single view from multi column view from the options menu. You are provided with options like a simple note (with or without heading), or an audio note, or a to do task list or even a note with a picture.

Customisation Options

Not much customization is available as of now and the most you can do is change the colors of your notes to nine different shades. Except this customization you are not allowed to change even the default serif font used by the app. A Keep widget is added at the home screen which opens up the main app blazingly fast for taking notes.

Access Google Keep Notes From the Web Interface

The Keep app by Google also offers you to add or view notes form the web interface. Simply go to https://drive.google.com/keep/ (Make sure you are signed into the same account as that you were using at your phone). There either you can add new notes or view your already saved notes.

There are many things that we wished Google Keep could do but it doesnt and that’s the beauty. If you are looking for an app that only takes note go for Google Keep.

Saving the destinations on your Google Maps is the best feature you can actually get from that application because that really saves lot of time from typing them in the search field again and again. On both the platforms Android and iPhone you have got this feature to save your search results on your profile, so it does not matter where you are you will just have to tap on the saved destination to see the directions from your current location.

Open the application and then search for any destination which you want to save on your iPhone. Now when you have got the desired search result, just tap on it.

And then you will see the option to save that destination, now when you will tap the star icon, it will turn Yellow and it will be saved on your profile.

Now next time when you want to use the same destination just open you profile section and you will see the destination listed under the list.

So that’s how you can save the places on your Google Maps and these destinations will Star Marked on the maps display on your mobile phones and on your desktop version both. Please let us know if face any problem while following this.

We recently talked about the stats of Opera Mini which clearly shows they are getting more and more popular among the smartphone users and all these is due to the facts that it offers the users with best compression technique which will help them to consume the least amount of data while surfing on internet. Though there are other browsers available for the smartphone users but they are limited to certain platforms like Google Chrome is available only for the Android and iOS users and Mozilla is available only for the Android users but when it comes to Opera-Mini then their availability is across large number of users.

To increase their popular over the wide range of users in India who probably use the cheaper range of phones, opera has joined its hands with 7 OEMs which are Celkon, Lava, Karbonn, Intex, Fly, Zen and HCL Me Tablets. All of them are the most popular mobile manufacturers which provide the users with the best hardware specs in the lowest price possible and in India and other Asian countries there is a huge population of the users where phones by these OEMs are being used in Majority and this strategy will really help the users to get addicted to the Opera Mini browser.

On this Lars Boilesen, CEO of opera Software said, “The number of Indians accessing the web from mobile devices is growing at a much faster rate than those using a computer. This unique environment has made it essential for handset manufacturers to ensure their upcoming mobile devices are web enabled and are ready to deliver the best browsing experience”.

What’s New in Opera Beta For Android and What Is New Strategy For Opera For India

From now on you will see that the devices which of these firms will be available with the pre-installed latest version of Opera Mini browser on the devices. In terms of feature Opera Mini is not behind any of the browsers used these days so these OEMs are also signing up the good deal in providing their customers with one of the best browsers for their smartphone.
