[How To] Set Different iPhone Ringtone For Each Contact

Sometimes we need to personalize the ringtones for some of the contacts in your iPhone so that we could know them by just hearing the ringtone and in this post we will not use any application or a jailbreak tweak to do that. You can change the ringtones, text-tone and the vibration style for a particular contact.

Go to contacts and after opening a particular contact, go to its details with ‘Edit’ option. Now you will see the fields for selecting the ringtone, text-tone and their vibration patter.

Tap each of them to change them from default to any other ringtone. You cannot choose any ringtone or text-tone as ‘None’ because you will not see ‘None’ as the option in the ringtone list. But if you still want to allot a silent ringtone to any one of the contact, then I will suggest you to create a silent ringtone using any of the application from App store and then you can choose it while selecting the ringtones for the contact.

If the selected tone for the contact is default then you will not see them on the contact detail, but once you change it then you will see them on the details screen.

Conclusion

This feature works fine to differentiate any contact with the rest of them but in order to mark a user with a silent ringtone with no vibration, you will have to create a silent ringtone and a blank vibration pattern. I have used different ringtones for the contacts in my favorite list and they are helpful.
