One of the most embarrassing situations that many of us must have faced is when we are at a place that demands silence and seriousness, and our phone rings out loud creating unwanted disturbance. The best example would be of a meeting during which your phone rings and everybody starts staring at you because it was your fault.
The possible solution to such a problem would be to switch your phone’s ringer profile to silent just before entering the place, but what if you forget doing so? You need Intelliring in that case which changes your phone’s ringtone volume automatically in accordance with the surrounding noise level.
Step 1: Head to Google Play store and download Intelliring.
Step 2: When you launch the app for the first time and go through the configuration pages, you will be asked to calibrate the app in order to use it properly. So move to a quiet room and proceed with the calibration process.
Step 3: Once you are done with Step 2, you will see the various tabs as seen in the image below. The first one is the Silent mode timer tab under which you have a dial. You can move your finger along the perimeter of the dial and set the duration for which you want your phone to be silent. Under the second tab which has a mic on it, you will be able to see the ambient noise level.
Under the third tab you can alter the settings of the app and the options include the minimum and maximum volume, auto open timer, meeting mode, silence ringer gesture and other features. At the bottom of the interface you have two buttons on either side – If you press the phone button on the left the app will play the ringtone as per the surrounding noise level, and the power button on the right is to enable/disable the app.
How to use
As soon as you calibrate the device, you are good to go. Now nothing needs to be done and all you have to do is check how well it works under different noise levels. If at any point in time you want to disable the app, just launch it and hit the power button present at the bottom right corner.
A great app and, to be honest, it did work for me. I am sure it will help many of the sufferers out there. If you really like the free version which will work for 31 days, you can upgrade to the paid version which that will cost you close to $2.
