Now Add Custom Icons To Folders,Remove Shadow, Label And Badges

The iOS folders is a useful feature considering the fact that now you can categorize apps into folders eventually making the homescreen cleaner and enhancing convenience. As usual, if you have an jailbroken device, you can do a lot more than one could think with the stock folders and today we are going to review a tweak that lets you go beyond the available functionality and do some grooming to your folders.

FoldeIcons is a wonderful tweak with which you can add custom icons to folders, remove labels, shadows, thumbnails and even badges. To download the same go to Cydia search and enter Foldericons, without space. After installing the tweak do not bother to go into the stock settings or look for a new icon on the homescreen and the app does not have either and it directly kicks in when you bring a folder into wiggle mode.

Here I have made a folder by bringing two apps together. As you can see there a small red settings circle being displayed at the top corner of the folder, which is the FolderIcons settings.

Tap on it and a small window will appear with a number of options. There is a background and foreground section along with four toggles for thumbnails, label, badge and shadow.

Under background, as the name says, you have a number of colourful backgrounds to choose from.

Similarly under foreground, you have a number of icons to add.

After you have selected the foreground and background and also selected which features to enable using the toggles, just close the window using the red x button.

Voila here is your new folder with a new icon and I know its looks amazing.

App Requirements: Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad.

Conclusion: At least now you can move up from the boring conventional folders. I wish it had functionality of paging and adding more than the set number of icons, for each folder.
