Although Apple has done a brilliant job in the form of iPhone’s OS structure which does not allow any virus attacks. In fact the services provided by Apple are all virus free but there are instances when you would not like your device to get affected from attacks carried by websites and other local or web based servers.
Virus Barrier is what you should look upto as it is a single solution to all your problems. The app has a very easy to understand interface where you have an edit button at the top right corner, a Add Remote Location button, Logs and Malware Definitions at the bottom.
In the above image i have already made two entries as Appstouse and Carblogindia but in your case you would only see Add Remote Location button. Press it and further you would have the opportunity to add a location. It lets you add websites, FTP disk, iDisk and also WebDAV disk. This means that apart from websites you can also scan files for Mac OSX, Windows and Unix viruses and malware.
You can add any of the remote locations by entering the required credentials. In the image below i have added our website Appstouse while if you wish to add a FTP or iDisk you will have to provide additional information like username or password if required.
After entering the details press Save and the app will scan the location immediately and will also add an entry of it on the main screen.
Once scanned you also have the ability to send the information to another app which could read the data, by pressing the top right button on the Scanner screen.
Coming back to the main screen of the app, we have logs at the bottom right corner which records your previous scanning activities.
App Requirements: Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Requires iOS 4.0 or later.
Conclusion: Nice app, works well and also comes with a free 1 year subscription
