Create, Send Physical Postcards From iPhone Worldwide

iOS 5 has been released yesterday and will be available for update from the coming 12th October. Apple claims to have added 200 new features of which one interesting feature is known as Cards. The cards app lets you create postcards on your iPhone and you can also mail the same to your loved ones. By mail I want to emphasize on a physical postcard and not just an electronic one. Apple will print the postcard created by you, on high quality and will mail it to any part of US for $ 2.99 and anywhere in the world for $ 4.99.

There is still some time left before the OS comes to the market, meanwhile you can take a look at an existing app which does the same job. Postcard On The Run lets you create postcards instantly and will print and mail them to your loved ones. From the very interface you need to select a photo first, either take a fresh one or select an existing from your camera roll or facebook account.


On the next step you can enter a small message( word limit of 200) and can change the font and colour of the text.

For this you can either use your contacts, group of contacts or add a new contact manually. If you do not have the address, when you add a person, the app will automatically request the address.

Lastly it will preview the postcard with your message at the top along with the signature at the bottom. You will also see the GPS enabled photo on the right in a box, below the space for stamp. To see the photo you clicked or added to the postcard, press the flip card button.


Lastly Finally you will have to make payment. So press next and pay with any of your credit cards.

Conclusion: Good work but lacks a number of features like cancel and saving the postcard in the middle of the process.
