There are several applications available on the internet for your iPhone and Android phone that let you call your friends for free over Wifi and 3G. All these apps are helpful and more importantly free of cost but the one we are going to review today is quite different.
Heytell is an app designed for both android and iPhone that lets you use your device as walkie-talkie over Wi-fi and 3G. The interface is quite simple and understandable.
To add a contact you need to tap on the To section or the contact button beside it. Then you can either select a contact from the address book or add a new contact and the app will send a text message with the invitation URL inside it. The user at the other end will have to open the URL to accept your invite and immediately it will be added to your conversations list. In the image below you can see Myself as an accepted contact.
To send a message to this user, press the big Hold And Speak button and say your message. Once you release the button, the message will be delivered and played.
The first button from the left in the middle of the screen is for your location which will be displayed to the person you are talking to.
The next button with a correct sign lets you add the person as Friend, remove it and even block.
To take a look at the recently sent and received messages for a user press the blue ball with arrow button next to the user.
At the bottom of the screen you have three sections, Conversations, Profile and Extras. Under Profile you can set the Privacy level so that you can decide who could contact you.
Lastly under Extras, you have the in app purchases like Voice Changer or Emoji icons, Ringtones etc. Here you also have the section of Favorites where you can listed to previously favorited conversations.
