iOS 6.1: New Features Explained

So finally a major update for iOS after iOS 6.0 has arrived and users are expecting some major changes in Apple Maps (especially the users in United States) and another thing is the jailbreak (untethered) which has not been available since it was upgraded to iOS6.0. But this time hackers are very much confident and they claim that they already have the untethered jailbreak in their wings and that is the reason that tethered jailbreak of iOS 6.1 for pre-A5 devices has already been released.

Now let us take up the new features which you can expect in this version, starting from the Apple Maps well not much can be seen in this case but yes satellite images have become lighter and better in resolution, that is the reason they being loaded on the phone pretty easily.

Another thing is the renovated interface to the music keys on the lock screen which allow you to control the volume of the music on the iPhone screen by using the volume scroll bar on the screen.

Now comes the LTE support feature, which has been extended up to 36 other countries and all the new countries are several Middle Eastern countries. To check the list of supported carriers visit this link.

For the USA users, Siri can buy movie tickets from Fandango and now iTunes Match subscribers can download individual songs from iCloud. For those who are not familiar with iTunes Match, it is feature as indicated below which can help you to store all your music on iCloud and you can download them anytime and at any place using your cellular data also.

Passbook application has got a new welcome screen which will appear every time when you will open Passbook and this welcome screen will have the link to open the applications supported for Passbook again. This will not go away even if you download an application of Passbook.

So these all are the new features, I don’t think much features have been altered as the significance change are for the US users only excluding the 4G support which is now available for European countries, but never the less you should definitely go for upgrading to this iOS as jailbreak (untethered) will be released soon to the users.
