Jailbreak Only – Set iOS 5 Notification Background Wallpaper

With the introduction of the Notification center via the iOS 5, a number of good things have been added. Unlike earlier when you had to go to the respective app to look at the recent alerts, now you can slide down the notification center and have a look at your missed calls, messages, mails etc. So definitely it comes as a major improvement.

Cydia which always has something interesting to offer now enlists a small yet wonderful tweak for the Notifications Center. The tweak is known as Custom NC Background and with it you can change the dull texture of the notification  center with a wallpaper or image of your choice.

This indeed is great as now you can customize your iOS 5 NC with beautiful backgrounds and can give your iPhone a new look. To download the tweak go to Cydia search and enter Custom NC Background (with spaces).

After it has been installed you can go to the tweak’s setting which is there under the stock iPhone settings.

Here you have an enable button and a Pick Image button just below it. To put a custom image or wallpaper or background tap on Pick Image.

From there you will be directed to your camera roll. So if you have any wallpapers saved, tap on it and the app will take you back to the settings section.

Now just disable the app and re-enable it so that the necessary changes take place and your new custom image is added as the default NC background.

Note: For the best look make sure your custom image’s resolution is same as your device’s native resolution. For example: For iPhone 3GS the custom background should be of 320×480 resolution for best appearance.

App Requirements: Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad.

Conclusion: I love the tweak and so will you. Please do try it and make your iPhone look more beautiful
