Display Recorder is a very interesting and useful tweak whose function is to record the display of your apple device in real time. The tweak is of great use when you want to demonstrate something so you can record it while using an app and then play the recording and explain it. This tweak is available on Cydia and only works on jailbroken devices.
Now the tweak works on most of the iOS versions but ever since the iOS 5 stepped in, the app started facing problems and was not fully compatible. Finally the app has been redesigned and it supports the latest iOS 5 and 5.0.1 now.
To download the same go to Cydia search and enter the keywords Display Recorder.
Once installed the app will create a homescreen icon that would look like this.
The default activation method to enable recording is short holding of sleep button. So to start recording right from the homescreen, press the Sleep button for a short while and a pop window will appear. You can select record and the recording will start immediately.
To end a recording, again press the sleep button for a short while and the recording will terminate.
Now you can open Display Recorder icon present on the homescreen and take a look at the recorded videos.
I am sure you must be wondering how to transfer these videos to your PC? Well for that the app has an inbuilt option for transferring these videos wirelesslt. Press the Enable button at the bottom of the Display Recorder interface and it will give you a web address. Now you can enter this url in your browser’s web address bar and download the videos.
App Requirements: Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad.
