Switchy – iPhone Multitask App Switcher Review

In the race of developing the best alternative to the stock app switcher, a number of developers have come up with their unique app switcher replacements on Cydia and the latest one that we really liked is called as Switchy. The name Switchy does not tell anything about the tweak however its interface tells you all.

The tweak is a paid one and is available on Cydia for $1.00. To download Switchy you will have to search its name under Cydia search and if you have any pirate repositories added, you can easily download it for free.

Lets start talking about the tweak which according to us isn’t bad at all but as far as creativity is concerned, it doesn’t appeal to us. What is so unique about the switcher is the amount of detail. Unlike the conventional app switcher, Switchy offers two rows of apps and multiple pages along with page indicators at the bottom. So you definitely get more space for opened apps.

Similar to the conventional app switcher, you can swipe toward right and the music app, music keys, rotation lock buttons and volume slider will appear. Once again all you get here is a better view.

Interestingly on swiping one more time you come across a new section where you have settings app shortcut, a brightness controller and a Clear Apps button to close all the background running apps at once.

Undoubtedly this is one of the best app switchers on Cydia store solely because of the reason that it has more space, it can kill apps instantly and also offers a brightness control slider.

App Requirements: Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Requires iOS 4 or later.

Conclusion: Very beautifully crafted app switcher with a couple of new features. Worth a buy

  • Aero: A good replacement for the stock app switcher with loads of creativity and cool gesture controls. You can buy the same for $1.99 but well worth the money. Unlike Switchy, it does not have any clear apps feature or brightness slider but the interface is definitely too cool.
