Show Chatheads while Watching Movie or Playing Game [Android]

Priorities for the users of Facebook Messenger vary a lot, some of them want those chat heads to be there all the time whenever someone pings and some of them don’t want them to disturb while they are watching a movie or playing a game over full screen. Don’t worry because we have a solution to this problem. Usually when you install Facebook Messenger for the first time then by default it will never let chatheads come up in between any of the applications which require full screen to operate (wherein you cannot even see time or the whole taskbar at the top of the screen).

How To Toggle This Feature

If you are a great chatter and don’t want to miss out on any notification from Facebook Messages then go to the settings options and then you will see the Option Off Chatheads.

If you toggle the button to OFF then you will completely turn off this feature and then they will not appear anymore on your screen but if you wish to allow them in the games of movie player applications also, then tap on the checkbox to uncheck it and then they will literally appear in between any application on your Android device.

Another thing I would like to notify that usually when you use the Facebook to check the Messages then on tapping upon any of the chats it will be pop out as the chat head but on disabling this chat head feature you will be directed to messenger application when you are try to read the chat in the Facebook Messenger.

[How-To] Set the Status in Google Hangout Application

One of the worst part of hangout application was not being able to set the status, which is really useful to convey a message that why you might not be able to reply to their messages promptly. And now luckily that feature is back in this application for both the platforms. When it comes to Android then this application has been updated with the SMS integration which was already implemented in Facebook Messenger (and I really hated this feature).

What Type Of Status Can You Set

On iPhone you don’t have this integration but you can set the status of your hangout but with certain constraint. First of all the users in the Google Talk list will not be able to see that status, secondly you will not be able to set the status in form of any desired text rather you will have large number of icon displaying different kind of moods, which will be used to set the status.

Thirdly you will also have the option to show that on which device are you using the hangout, whether it your phone, your laptop or your tablet. Another great point about this new update on this application is that if you are on a call and you are logged on hangout through the smartphone applications then you status will automatically reflect that.

Conclusion

These status can be altered in the Settings section wherein you will see a separate option for this ne feature. So these are some good features in the new hangout update, but I also wanted them to be reflected in the Google Chat section. How To Get unlimited Cloud Space to store data

I am going to tell you a smart tip which will help you to get this done very easily. Cloud storage is one of the most expensive storage media where you can store your data. There is no cloud service which offers free data storage. It started getting popular with Dropbox and now we have large number of options which includes Microsoft Skydrive, Google Drive and others. When a user creates an account over Google then he already gets a cloud storage space of 10GB for all the activities and files which are associated by using the Google services.

10GB is a good amount of free space if you simply want to save only the important stuff over your account and if your account is old then you will have this free space as 15GB which is again really good. This 15GB will have all the mails available on the Gmail account and also the files uploaded on Google Docs. Now the Google Drive application for Android and iPhone has been recently updated which can help you to monitor multiple Google Accounts on Google Drive pretty easily.

Whenever you getting out of space then you can create another Google Account for a new 10GB free of Google Drive space and then start uploading your files there. But make sure you share all those files with the primary account which you usually access all the time. So, through you are uploading from different ends, but you will be able to read and edit all the files from a single frame (this is from your primary account).

The screenshot shows that I am sharing a file with my primary account and then using my phone to manage both the accounts at the same time. If you have the application installed on your tablet or smartphone, you will not even have to enter the passwords again and again but if you are using the desktops then you can open another account by using the incognito mode of your Google Chrome browser.

Problems You May Face.

You may face the problems like he handling of all those Google Accounts can be bit of a problem. So, try to set the same passwords for all those accounts.

Every time you upload any damn file!! There number can be huge but you cannot help it you will have to share every one of them with the primary account in order to take the advantage of the tip. So, upload all the files at once and then click the select all option to select all the files. Now click share and then share all those files atone. I think this solves your problem.

Create a Favorite list in Chat list of Facebook Application

There is a very unique feature on your Facebook Application for iPhone which most of us do not know about. We have seen that on our desktop version of Facebook and on the mobile application our online friends section is divided into 2 parts. One of them consist of the online friends with whom we talk frequently as compared to the other friends in the list and the rest of the friends are available in other list of friends.

Your mobile application gives you the provision of creating another list of friends in the same chat list which we be seen in that list all the time despite of the fact that they go offline or get online. This feature is online available in the mobile application version of Facebook and so you won’t find it in the desktop version.

Open the application and then slide your finger towards left, the chat section will open up and then you will see an icon of favorites.

Tap it and then add the user names below it, once they are added in the list they will always appear at the top of the chat list and will be there all the time, whether they are available online or offline. So, this way you can choose the number of users with whom you would like to chat frequently or leave a message on Facebook.

Try to close the applications regularly when you exit an application, make sure that when you double tap the home button you don’t a huge list of application in the row. Following the same logic in mind, delete all those application which you seldom use.

If the lag is unbearable, then take the backup of your iPhone 4 and then restore it with the backup.

Customize the Privacy Options of Hangouts on iOS and Android devices

On Google Plus anyone can invite you over a video Hangout or anyone can comment on your posts unless the privacy section is dealt particularly. Google Hangout application for iPhone and Android devices have the provision to control the privacy with which they followers or friends can interact with you Hangout either on the desktop or the applications for both the platforms. The screenshot and the tip has been mentioned for the Android devices, but the exact same steps can be used to do the same for the iPhone application as well.

Open the application and then go to its Settings section. Now tap the Customize invites option.

Privacy has been differentiated as per the circles affiliated to your Google Plus profile. Let’s say, Friends will directly invite you to the hangout session and you will just have to click the link to start the hangout, whereas in the case of other circles like entertainment the people will be able to send you an invitation for the Google Hangout on the acceptance of which the Hangout will start.

Here hangout refers to both way to interaction, i.e. video and audio both. You can change the level of this invitation to the hangout for all the circles related to your profile.

If you are still facing lots of invitation on your profile then you can opt to snooze the notifications for the next 72 hours or you can go to the settings section and then uncheck the checkbox for the notifications for Hangout Invitations. This will save your phone from buzzing every time any tries to invite you to the Hangout.

See who is Online on Google Hangout app [iPhone]

Google hangout has been updated with a feature of voice calling, though video calling was embedded in it but now you also have the option of calling the other users through audio. Usually for this feature we have been using some of the applications like line, Viber and Skype on our phones but now it seems that when all the users already have their primary contact stored on their Google Account. Especially when most of them have started using Android devices which uses their Google account only.

Users will prefer Google Hangout over the other applications, obviously. So, if you want to use this feature then you will just have to update this application and once you open the application you will see an introductory screen of this application. Apart from this you will always see a phone icon on the first screen of this application, which can be tapped to open the keypad dialer.

It also shows the call log for the calls made through Google Hangout. Another good feature which has been updated in the application is the availability of the online presence symbol for the contacts. The users who are currently online will have a small green colored icon on the right hand corner of the photo. So, now when you will open the new hangout windows, then you will be able to know that who all users are online as of now.

BBM Finally arrives on iOS7 Platform [Download Link]

For all the BBM lovers who had to switch from Blackberry to Android in order to enjoy huge and good variety of application would love to know that Blackberry has not officially released their BBM application for the iPhone application and I am still not sure about the Android version of this application.

This application was revealed previously few weeks back but then it was dropped off from app store the other day. I still have that same version on my iPhone and now the app store shows me to update this BBM application. The only changes it displays is the iOS optimizations and bug-fixes though I cannot see any UI change while comparing both the versions.

The application is pretty simple to use for the Blackberry users. As soon as you install the application you will have to create an account and thus a PIN will be assigned to that account which can be shared by other BBM application users to chat with you. So, the privacy is highly secured and unlike other messengers everybody who have you mobile number will not be able to contact you.

Rest you also have message stamp such as Delivered and Read (which were the main reasons of making Whatsapp really famous). You will also be able to have group chats over the application and the download link for this application has been mentioned below at the end of the post. How-To get rid of iMessage Bug [iOS7]

There have been certain complaints from the users that while sending and receiving the messages through iMessage service sometimes the messages are not sent and sometimes they are not delivered to the recipient. This is happening for no reason because they network to which their iOS device is connect is working just fine.

Apparently Apple has recognized this issue and has promised to get this resolved in their next update. We suspect that Apple will be taking sometime to collect all the issues like lock screen problem, this iMessage problem and battery drainage issue and they will try to fix them in a single update. For the users who are facing this problem we have a solution for you.

Just follow these steps, Turn off the iMessage feature by going to Settings and then under Messages options you will see a toggle option named ‘iMessage’. Turn that off.

Now go the General section and then scroll down to the last option to tap the reset option. You will have to tap again on the reset network option to reset the settings for the iMessage also.

Now go back to the same screen as mentioned above in the first step and then turn on the feature of iMessage. The initial amount which was added onto your phone bill as the activation charges of iMessages will be charged again and now this time iMessage will work just fine.

If still the problem persists then another solution can be to restore the device or create a new Apple ID and then use that ID on your iOS device. Again if these tips also don’t work then wait for the next update of iOS. Please let us know the exact problem where you are stuck.

Stop Background Operations of Applications To save your Battery [iOS7-New Feature]

Users have been facing a battery problem on their iPhones a lot after this iOS upgrade but actually this is due to a new option which has been added in the Settings section of new iOS7 and is you have discovered it by now then I suppose battery issue must have been taken care of.

Usually till the last version of iOS we never had any control over the applications usage which are operating in the background (when you have exited them by pressing the home button) but now you have this control and believe me these background operations are the major reasons of your battery getting drained quickly.

Just follow these steps and you will be able to turn off the whole background operations for all the applications or you may do it for the specific applications. Go to the Settings section and then press general. Now scroll down a little to see the option named ‘Background App Refresh’. Tap it.

You can see the control to toggle the feature as a whole or for certain applications. My suggestion will be to target those applications who usually use the location services in background as this is the main reason to drain off your battery at a quicker rate. Toggle the options as preferred by you.

Check the Home screen of your iPhone and look out for the icon of the clock application. Take some time and look it closely, you will see that the icon shows you the real time as the date shown by the icon of the calendar application.
