Few days ‘GarageBand’ went free as one of the applications on Apple devices as the part of ‘iLife’ application pack and today we also have another application which has been stated as the application of the week on the App Store of iOS devices. These two are the best applications if you want to produces your own music over the Apple iOS devices. Obviously, ‘GarageBand’ leads the way but it is really heavy for iPhone 4 to operate and it may crash frequently and the same story goes for the iPhone 3GS, so we are stating the second application for those users.

1. GarageBand

This music generation application has most of the general beats and rhythm played by most of the instruments and thus they can repeated and used again and again to generate your music, you also have the option to record the music through the microphone of your iPhone. So, you can play your guitar and sing to record your voice in it. Most of the smart rhythm packs of the application will have to be bought at 5$ but still the features are worth trying.

It seems as if the Apple have really started forging their policies in a different directions. Firstly it was the updates of Mac OS (I.e Maverick) along with the free iLife pack and now the Freemium version of Garageband. I cannot see that where Apple people are heading towards but these are good for us, so no worries.

[Solved] Stop iPhone, iPad or iPod Contents Gets Deleted When Synced With iTunes

Many users have reported that they lose all the data once they connect their iPhone to iTunes. Now, it is one of the major issues which an iPhone user must have faced once and this is really annoying when you connect your iPhone and then all data gets vanished. Before proceeding further let me tell you that in the solution discussed below, I have mentioned only iPhone everywhere, but all these tips are viable for iPad and iPods also.

Common circumstanced when this problem occurs

  • When you have connected your new iPhone to iTunes installed on your PC.
  • When you have connected your iPhone to another PC or a new PC for the first time.
  • When you have connected your iPhone to a PC on which iTunes have been installed for the first time.

 

Tips to get over this Problem

  • Remove Auto-Syncing
    I will recommend you to stop the auto-syncing in you iTunes. Sometimes, we do not want the syncing to occur as soon as we connect our iPhone to iTunes. But then then once syncing starts it will complete its all the 7 or 6 steps and then you will be able to disconnect it. Moreover auto-syncing may lead to losing all the data on your iPhone.
    Go the ‘Edit’ menu and under that click the ‘Preferences’ section, which will take you to another window, as mentioned in the screenshot. Just select the appropriate option as highlighted below and then auto-syncing will be stopped.

  • Authorize That Computer for your Apple ID (when connecting to a computer for the first time)
    Syncing is the process where in your computer or laptop will always keep a perfect synchronization between the applications available on your iPhone and the folder on your computer where all the applications are saved.
    This means that if you have installed any application on your iPhone then it will automatically transfer that IPA to the folder on your computer where all the other applications are saved. And, if you download any application from iTunes on your computer, then while syncing, it automatically transfer that application on your iPhone. Unless you delete that application manually from your iPhone or you uncheck that application on the syncing Window.

    But when you are syncing your iPhone for the first on a new computer then, then that computer should fetch all the applications from your iPhone without making any changes to your iPhone. Instead this, sometimes it happens that computer starts deleting all the application from your iPhone.
    This awkward thing happens when you have not authorized that computer on your apple ID and thus computer is not authorized to transfer any data form your iPhone.
    To correct this issue, go to the option named ‘Store’ and then click the option ‘Authorize the Computer’.
  • Stop losing your data when you have connected your iPhone to a new computer (and do not want to authorize it)
    If that is not your computer, and you still want to sync your iPhone as you want to transfer some new songs, then go the ‘App’ sub-tab and then below it, un-check the checkbox for syncing the applications. Similarly you will have to do the same for contacts, images and other important stuff on your iPhone.

Use More Than One Apple ID On iPhone, iPad

Recently I went to my brother’s place and while I was playing around on his iPhone, I came across an interesting application. I liked it so much that I immediately took my iPhone out of the pocket, opened the App Store, searched the app and downloaded it.

It was as simple as you can think of. But this method was convenient for only a single app and not for a group of apps. You would never want to search each and every app on the app store and then download it. You must know that all the apps that you download from the store are listed in your purchases and each list is exclusive to one Apple ID. So if you friend downloads a couple of apps which you also want to have on your iPhone, a very convenient method for doing so is logging in the store using your friend’s Apple ID.

Many of you do know how to sign out from the existing Apple account and sign in using another but for those who are still confused about the same, we are here to help you.

A very important note is that you could use any number of Apple accounts on one device, obviously one at a time, or one Apple ID on multiple devices but you should not use the same account for iCloud syncing. Using the same iCloud account, even accidently, could result in merged contacts, notes etc. As advised, in case you are having more than one device to share the App Store purchases between, set up the devices using separate Apple IDs and configure the iCloud account using the same.

Now to sign out from the existing id and log in using a different id to transfer applications, follow the procedure given below:

  • Go to settings and scroll down to the option, STORE.

  • Tap on STORE and on the next page you will see the Apple ID you are currently signed in with. The layout here is different and there is no SIGN OUT button probably because I am still on iOS 5.0.1. In your case you could see a red SIGN OUT button just below the Apple ID, so all you have to do is tap on it.

  • If your Apple ID page looks like mine, tap on the ID and select Sign Out. Once you have signed out, a SIGN IN button will appear with which you can sign in using the desired Apple ID.

iPhone Percentage Apps Download Indicator [Jailbreak Required]

For a long while there is one thing that annoys me the a little and it is related to the App Store downloads. Whenever I and obviously all you readers, download an application from the App Store its icon appears on the home screen. The downloading begins instantly and the progress bar starts filling up.

Now this is the point where my problem steps in which is that I cannot see the progress in percentage. What we all see is a small progress bar across the length of the icon which gradually fills up. I had always wished for a better way of tracking the progress of the download and a recent tweak on Cydia has come as a great solution to my problem.

AppCent is the name of the tweak and it actually shows the download progress of any app in percentage. It is free and you can download it from Cydia by searching AppCent.

After installing the tweak and respringing your Apple device, you must go to the stock settings app and look for AppCent. (See the image below)

Tap on AppCent and on the inside there will be a enable / disable toggle. So enable the feature by tapping on the toggle.

Now to check the tweak, you can go to the App Store and download any free app. As you can see in the image below, I am downloading a game and the progress is close to 4 %.

Apple has a very distinct quality of keeping its fans and customers engrossed throughout the year. How do they do it? Apple proceeds in a very planned manner and each year it brings something new to our lives. This year it is the expected iPhone 5 and already released iOS 6.
